Research Study – Can Arm Cycling Improve Trunk Muscle Function?

Can arm cycling improve trunk muscle function?

Dr Joy Choudhury (MCSI Oswestry) and Dr Chloe Chiou (University of Birmingham) are carrying out a collaborative research project to look at whether arm cycling exercise can enhance effects of core training.

“We would like to recruit spinal cord patients”

We will ask you to do the arm cycling at home. We will evaluate your trunk muscle activity, reaction time, and balance regularly throughout the exercise programme.

The evaluation will be at University of Birmingham, School of Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences building. Cost for transportation will be covered.

If you would like further information about the study, please speak to Dr Choudhury or Dr Chloe Chiou (University of Birmingham) on 0121 414 5315. Alternatively you can email us at s.chiou@bham.ac.uk

Thank you!
