Child Immunisations

Many potentially fatal childhood diseases have been virtually eradicated in the UK due to the availability of vaccinations. It is very important that all children are fully immunised. Reminders are sent out by the Health Authority.

Current recommendations for vaccines are:

8 Weeks

1st Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio & HIB injection (5 in1)

1st  Rotarix

1st Meningitis B

12 Weeks

2nd Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio & HIB injection (5in 1)

1st Pneumococcal

2nd Rotarix

16 Weeks

3rd Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio & HIB injection (5 in 1)

2nd Meningitis B

1 Year & 1 Month

1st MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

HIB/ Men C

3rd Pneumococcal

Booster Men B

3 Years & 4 Months

Booster diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough & polio injection

2nd MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

12-13 Years

HPV (Given at school)

14 Years (school Year 9)

Tetanus, diptheria & polio

Megingococcal A, C, W & Y
